Two successful gigs! I feel we've made our mark on the Southampton Modern Jazz Club and PizzaExpress Live Soho.
Please forgive the wait for this: various circumstances (partly medical) have delayed things, which is why I hadn't reported back from these two gigs, both of which went very well in spite of various factors such as weather and lack of rehearsal time. Lovely, receptive audiences in both places, and lots of nice comments afterwards. We gave a première in Southampton, my Bebop #8, and a semi-première at Pizza Express.
Explanation: we ran out of time at So'ton and I felt compelled at the last minute to drop Frank Zappa's splendid Sinister Footwear from the set. Suspecting we might have the same problem at PEX I cut great bleeding chunks out of our very long Ludwig's Van, ending up with something about half the length which I called Ludwig's Minivan. We did this version at PEX, which left time for the Zappa. Phew!
Nothing further planned for the time being — I'll be getting on with, among other things, Bebop #9.
