Unfounded fears! I'd been somewhat apprehensive about this gig - long journey, two deps unfamiliar with the music, almost no chance to rehearse properly (not to mention filthy weather!) - but when it came to it, everything fell into place and we played pretty well. The only real fly in the ointment was a miscalculation on my part of the time, of which we ran out. By the break it was obvious this was going to happen, so I very reluctantly dropped Zappa's ‘Sinister Footwear II’ from the set. The same is liable to happen at our forthcoming PizzaExpress Live gig - 11 November, folks! - so I've taken a sharp implement to the very long Ludwig's Van, which, at roughly half the length of the original, is now Ludwig's Minivan. Fingers Crossed!
