More reviews and a gig!

Aha! We finally have another gig on the slate. This will be our first appearance at Jazz Café POSK in King Street, Hammersmith, on Saturday 5 April. Looking forward to it hugely.

And since the last post we've had several more excellent reviews for Unfinished Business:

Ian Mann in The Jazz Mann: "Even after half a century the music still sounds fresh and exciting, qualities that are enhanced by the superb playing of Sansom’s hand picked, all star, contemporary jazz ensemble."

Lance Liddle in Bebop Spoken Here (superb!): "An album that will be remembered - and played - long after other equally ambitious projects have been forgotten. It's simply magnificent!"

Robert Shore in Jazzwise: "...by turns swinging and refulgent, slow and stately, and souped-up and thrill-seeking ... full of great solo spots … Let’s hope we don’t have to wait another 50 years for the follow-up."

And John Fordham's wonderful feature was published as promised in UK Jazz News: "Unfinished Business reveals how the most complex musical ideas can nowadays be reinvented both accurately and freely by improv-savvy performers, helping to give the most intricately composed shapes the openness and fluidity of songs."

Sorry to be so lazy about updating this after the flurry of activity before Christmas! Must do better, must do better…
